Mind the gap!

Updated: 10 hours ago

Eighteen years on from leaving our dear black-bogey giving London, and yet, the citysomehow still has me under its historic spell. There’s something about that electric hum—the coffee culture, the historic façades, the hipster hideaways, and those swanky workspaces—that makes my marketing brain fizz with ideas. It’s a far cry from the slower rhythm of life in the sticks, but that contrast is exactly what keeps my creativity sharp and my work-life balance intact.

Hybrid working has its perks, but let’s be honest: nothing beats the occasional face-to-face catch-up with colleagues against the backdrop of London’s skyline. The sights, the sounds, the smells—plus the eye-watering price of a flat white—are all part of the experience. It’s a sensory recharge that reminds me why I fell in love with this city in the first place.

So here’s to hopping on that train midweek, soaking up the buzz, and maybe even sharing a ridiculously priced beer or two. Got recommendations for the best spots to eat, drink, and brainstorm? Even better—if you’re London-based and fancy a commuter-style meet-up, let’s get a date in the diary. Because sometimes, the gap between city and country is exactly where the magic happens. Anyway, here's some links to help those of us from the provinces with your commuter-life trip to Londinium. https://citymapper.com/?lang=en https://www.londonbornandbred.co.uk/post/horrible-histories-terrible-thames-tour https://brighterbox.com/blog/article/top-london-commuting-hacks
